HotelPass Terms & Conditions

Introduction

• HotelPass is available to both international and domestic travellers.
• HotelPass vouchers must be purchased prior to leaving your country of origin (for international travellers).
• Guests wishing to buy HotelPass vouchers in Australia for travel to New Zealand, South Pacific, Papua New Guinea, Singapore and Shanghai must contact a travel agent.
• Vouchers cannot be bought directly from Choice Hotels Australasia.

Services/Inclusions

• HotelPass vouchers are valid only for the nominated accommodation or services at the specified hotel/country and only for the date and the number of nights specified on the voucher.
• Vouchers do not include any additional service, eg. breakfast, unless otherwise advised at the time of booking and stated on the voucher.
• Open dated vouchers are valid for one night only.
• Vouchers are only valid in the country stipulated on the voucher -ie. vouchers marked for Australia cannot be used within New Zealand and vice versa.
• Vouchers are inclusive of 10%GST (Goods and Services Tax) in Australia and 12.5% in New Zealand and other countries as specified by your Travel Agent.
• Vouchers are not transferable.

Refunds/Surcharges

• No refunds are made when a guest presents a higher coloured coded voucher at a lower coloured coded hotel. An additional charge will apply where a lower coloured coded voucher is resented at a hotel of a higher colour code value.
• Refunds for unused vouchers may be considered according to the conditions outlined by the office of purchase and in the same currency as that used for purchase. Refunds may be subject to a handling fee as determined by the issuing office and will only be processed on return of original voucher.
• Choice Hotels Australasia accepts no responsibility for lost or stolen vouchers. Travel insurance is recommended to protect yourself in such instances.

Cancellation Policy/Guaranteed Bookings

• Accommodation that is pre-booked by your travel agent will be guaranteed for the first night of stay.
• Cancellation notification must reach Choice Hotels Australasia reservations by 6.00pm on the date of stay. Always obtain a cancellation number.

Open Dated Vouchers

• Open dated vouchers do not ensure availability. We recommend you pre-book your accommodation at least 24 hours in advance. To guarantee your booking after 6.00pm and avoid the disappointment of your room being cancelled, please quote an approved credit card number at the time of booking.

Accommodation

• Accommodation is based on standard room type with maximum room occupancy of 4 persons: 2 adults, and 2 children. However, there are some exceptions where standard rooms have a lower maximum room occupancy and these will be advised at the time of booking.
• If a higher room category is required, an additional charge is applicable, payable at the hotel or buy purchasing a Choice Encompass voucher. Ask your travel agent for further details.

Children

• 2 children under the age of 12 years, sharing a room with 2 adults are free of charge (subject to maximum room occupancy) except at Heritage Hotels using existing bedding.
• Children accommodated at Heritage properties are accommodated at the extra person rate.
• Due to the nature of these properties, children are accommodated upon application and at the discretion of the host.
